Doing a few solo gigs still …
Some of my songs are just not band suitable and as everyone in the band it writing collaborations and other bandmates songs have to get in to the mix … but that leaves me with lots of songs that aren’t getting played live. Also it is a different experience to get up “naked” and play so I am continuing to do solo gigs and play some new songs at open mics around town. One is always likely to run in to some interesting characters and music at open mics even run in to some old friends.
Here is a video of a snippet of The Hippie Ghost Dance recently played at an open mic … this song is on Bob Crain – LIVE digital release but I haven’t played it live in Melbourne so I gave it a whirl.
