It’s Election Time

… are you just TRADING KINGS AND QUEENS ?

From what I am hearing there is soon to be an election in the United States. Now my songwriting rarely touches on politics but I do venture in to history.

Looking back through I wonder if the only real change in politics is that there used to be single “rulers”, known by various titles, which could be deposed or otherwise disposed of and replaced with another. Now it seems there is this giant pod of Kings and Queens which are much harder to get rid of … they have these “elections” by witch they say the people can exchange and depose of these current Kings and Queens … but it’s just shuffling the deck chairs because the people wind up with the same result.

When you wash the dishes you empty the water and the next time you wash you start with fresh water … but in elections it seems you may empty some of the “water” but not all of it so in the end you are washing your dishes with dirty “water”.

So I wish all of you Americans good luck but if history tells me anything … no matter what happens you are going to wind up with basically the same gang of thieves representing themselves and their “sponsors” rather than the people who elect them.

To that end I am just a songwriter and can only offer this recently recorded song TRADING KINGS AND QUEENS in the hope that at some point in the future, without the need for angst and bloodshed, all of the dish washing water can be emptied and fresh water can be put in the sink.

So much lyin’ and deceit just to be persons of title and fortune and fortune
Modern kings and queens squabble over possession of the throne the throne
